Michael Keen was born in Boulder, Colorado in 1980. He grew up in the mountains, always close to nature and the elements. After graduating from Golden High School, he attended The Rocky Mountain College of Art and Design where he graduated with a BFA in Illustration.

After several years of commercial illustration, Michael turned his attention more heavily to the fine art aspects of his practice. He has shown in numerous galleries both domestically and abroad. In 2007 he opened Gallery Cuvée in Denver’s Art District on Santa Fe Drive, where his work is permanently exhibited along with several other artists.

In addition to his work as an artist, Michael also owns and operates Studio 6 Coffee House, also in the Art District, and co-hosts The Untitled Art Show; an on-line radio talk show about art and the industry.
